Yesterday, I told you about my first experience using Tweet Adder. Today, I’ll tell you about how I am using Tweet Adder to add new followers (follow me on twitter for more Internet marketing tips).
How to add followers
Once I have logged in, and added followers to my database inside Tweet Adder (check this post in order to understand how I am finding targeted followers and adding them to the database), I click on the tab for Add Follows (see the image below).
As I am writing this, I have a database of 10093 users to follow. All which are targeted, using various keywords. I have specified to follow 50 people at a time, because I don’t want to be spamming twitter and I consider 50 at a time to be more than enough (50 is the default). I follow 200 people each day, so I follow 50 people four times a day. I am also adding a time delay between each follower, that’s because it was the default setting of Tweet Adder.
Follow people back
At the moment, I have 433 people who are following me, but I am not following them. With Tweet Adder, I can chose to follow them back, and the default setting is at 50 people at a time. I haven’t tried this yet though.
Following ratio
I am also using the default settings when it comes to the ratio of which I am following people. I will stop following people when the ratio is 1.5 for following to followers. This means that if I am following 150 people, I need at least 100 followers. Although, I will be struggling to keep it closer to a 1 to 1 ratio. That’s because I believe that having a 1 to 1 ratio will get me even more followers, because people seem to be more impressed with this ratio.

I haven't tested Hummingbird, but I've been using TweetAdder for a while. To me, TweetAdder is awesome.
Last time I checked, I couldn't use Hummingbird for Mac. TweetAdder can be used for both PC and Mac.
TweetAdder is the reason why I have more than 9,000 followers without spamming or doing anything other than push a few buttons.

Thanks.
There’s a free trial/demo of TweetAdder, but if you want to buy it, it costs $55 (one time fee, lifetime support and updates)

Hi Aaron,
Thanks for telling me about this. It’s actually my fault. I was probably in a hurry when I wrote the post, and added jens as my username to twitter (it’s my first name). I should have added berget.
I’ve edited the post.
Thanks a lot!

Hi Sonja,
At Twitter, the only things you can do in order to gain followers, are to either ask people to follow you, follow people or have people follow you for any other reasons (because you are a celebrity, because you write a quality blog etc..).
With TweetAdder you can follow targeted groups of people. For instance, if you are writing about photography, you can follow everybody who uses the word photography in their tweets or in their bio. Usually, most people you follow will follow you back (that’s how Twitter works).
I have now more than 6,500 followers, and that’s just from using TweetAdder. Some of my followers have probably located me from my blog or from keywords in my tweets, but I think most of my “success” is due to TweetAdder.

From what I hear, TweetAdder is not very good. I've got some big Twitter Marketing friends who say they prefer one called Hummingbird2
