When a person is surfing the internet looking for something, they have a relatively short attention span. To turn these visitors into lifelong customers can be a challenge, but it can be done. The key is for them to enjoy using your website and to have a good experience there and to turn on the buy button in the brain.

Seven Ways To Capture And Keep Visitors Attention

-Have an attractive website – Catch visitors attention to your website through great products, high-quality content and by featuring catchy illustrations.

Make Your Website Easy To Navigate – Be sure that all pages come up quickly for your visitors and that all the links work properly on your website. Optimize your content for the web and, if necessary, take advantage of the services of a professional website developer.

Offer A Great Product – Be sure that what you are offering is something that buyers will feel as if they want or need to have, remember that the point is to turn on the buy button in the brain.

Offer Satisfaction Guarantee – Let customers know that you value their business and that you will guarantee their satisfaction with your product and if possible, offer a money-back guarantee. Make the customer feel comfortable purchasing from your business by letting them know there is little or no risk.

Build Up A Good Online Reputation – Give potential customers the feeling that doing business with your company will be smart and a good choice.

Prominently Display Any Awards – On your website, prominently display any awards that have been received by the business itself or by the website. This helps to create a trustworthy and reputable appearance for your company.

Use Customer Testimonials – Display the great customer testimonials your business has received from satisfied customers.

The ultimate goal attained by following these simple steps is two-fold. The main goal is to create a lifelong customer, one that hopefully will bring repeat business to your company. The other goal is the word-of-mouth recommendations that customers give to their friends and family to bring more customers to your business. By creating a stellar online reputation, a business can successfully turn visitors to their website into lifelong customers.

    Hey Liz,

I think the most important part is that we identify our audience and write for them (quality content delivered in a good manner, that itself can help us to turn visitors into life long customers). Of course, like you mentioned, “showing off” helps to an extent – show off our work, the testimonials/reviews we got.

About satisfaction guarantee – we can’t guarantee satisfaction for all products we all, can we? Take for instance, we could say it provides value. But, if we give a money back guarantee, isn’t people just going to read the book and give it back (Then again, if they find it useful, they are more likely to keep it).

Anyways, thank you for the post!

I agree with Jeevan, because that is the best solution of that one…

  3. I like your suggestion of displaying awards. Something a lot of companies forget is to also display their member of professional association logos.

Don’t hide the fact that you are a certified women owned, minority owned, or any other type of certification on the About Us page. Put it right on the home page. A lot of companies looking for suppliers will see your certifications right off and this will help them decide to stay on your site and ultimately do business with you.

Part of building up a good online reputation is good customer service. Hence, it is necessary that you offer your customers added value so they will come back to you.

Make your website look interesting to capture the attention of users. Then make sure that they will get value from your site .
