12 Tips on How to write a Press Release

The reason we do it, is because a press releases is a powerful method to promote what we do, and the publicity we get from them are awesome.
Here are 12 tips that I use when I write press releases:
Tip #1: When you write a press release, write it for the media, not your customers. Give journalists and editors the five w's: Who, What, Where, When, and Why.
How To Get The Local Newspaper To Write Your Story

After a great event, I seem to always end up with questions like; why do the newspapers exist and what are their missions? Because I would think that they must have a goal, some sort of plan for what they are doing. Or maybe not?
I am trying to figure it out, but I just don't get it.
