Sometimes a business will get lucky, very lucky. Sometimes it's all due to accident, yes, sometimes a product can become very popular due to something the company are not in control of at all. Let me give you an example. I guess you have heard of the now famous shoe thrower, this one incident has made a Turkish shoemaker really popular.

Yesterday, I spent most of the day in Oslo. It was mostly work, I was at a fairly long business meeting. I guess it was ok, even though I don't care much for meetings. When I attend a meeting, I usually don't get much work done. And usually, when I am attending a meeting, I don't focus on what's happening during the meeting. I think about everthing else. That's why I want every meeting to be as short as possible. That's really all you need to know about the trip to Oslo. I got home about eight o'clock, it was dark, and it was cold.

Don't ever underestimate the power of a great name. Usually, a great name is a short name, a name you'd remember the very second you see it for the first time.

It’s very important to focus on time management when you have kids. It’s very important to focus on your tasks, because if you don’t, then most of the time, it will be close to impossible to get anything done.

Whenever I try to work at home when my kids are awake, this is what usually happens to me (this is my office by the way).

I guess you understand that Halloween is a big thing when huge companies edit their logos in order to celebrate it.

I discovered earlier today that MSN, Yahoo and YouTube have made the proper changes. I am just wondering, why are they doing it?

A few hours ago, I picked up my phone, it was a fairly young person asking me if I was Jens. I said yes, even though I wanted to say no and just hang up. I knew what he was up to, and I only had five minutes before I had to go.

He was friendly, way too friendly. He asked me if I had kids, and again, I felt like telling him the truth. Two young kids, a 2 year old boy and a 5 year old daughter.

Oh good, he sounded relieved.

He asked if they enjoy to watch movies on dvd, I said yes.

I have just seen the brand new Pink Panther 2 trailer, the director Harald Zwart is by the way Norwegian (but that doesn’t have anything to do with why I am writing this). You’ll be able to watch the teaser at the bottom of this post.

Steve Martin is still the actor playing Inspector Closeau. He did a decent job in Pink Panther 1, but to me, it’s impossible to play Inspector Closeau better than Peter Sellers. 

Anyways.

If you have ever considered using a similar name as someone famous, and you didn’t do it, well, you might want to reconsider it.

If you have a business, and you want people to notice you, you could use a name that they already know. Well, you can almost use a name that they already know. Using the exact same name or close to identical name as a famous person or a company (or stealing their logo), that’s illegal. But you can probably find a way to do, it’s not that hard, if you really want to, you’ll find a way.

I discovered a different kind of blog yesterday. Sometimes when I visit a new blog, I stop and stare, and I find myself thinking about what I am actually staring at. This doesn't happen often, usually I understand what the blog is all about in a few seconds, then I move on or I find it interesting and start to read some of the posts, and maybe I end up subscribing to the RSS feed. Now, the blog I discovered yesterday was the blog that I stopped and stared at, but I kept staring for a few minutes (it felt like several minutes).
