A YouTube Marketing Trick

Tomorrow, I'll be leaving for Gothenburg and a concert with Depeche Mode. I'm very excited, and because I'm really looking forward to the concert, I've been looking at videos of Depeche Mode on YouTube.

Like this one; Just Can't Get Enough. But before you watch it, be ready to answer this question. Do you see the YouTube marketing trick? (you have to wait 15 seconds in order to see it).

How Cool Is Word Of Mouth Marketing Really?

Word of mouth is usually being referred to as passing information from person to person, and in the beginning it was all about oral communication. But now, it includes many types of communication between people. I thought, for a long time, that it had to be between two people to be called word of mouth. But I think that it needs to be between people, from one person to one or more people... that's all.

Randy Pausch on Time Management

I've read the amazing book from Randy Pausch called The Last Lecture. If you haven't read it, you have to. Today, the topic is different though. As I am writing about time management, I discovered an amazing video on YouTube of a lecture that Randy Pausch did on time management at University of Virginia in November 2007. And when I write amazing, that's exactly how I would describe this lecture. The lecture is fairly long, 1 hour and 16 minutes.

Squeeze Pages or Splash Pages

I have just finished creating a squeeze page, and I would really appreciate your feedback. Is it a good squeeze page or not? You'll get the link at the bottom. Let me first tell you a few words about the difference between squeeze pages and splash pages, and why we use them. First off, squeeze pages are really just a single page without any navigation. It's like an advertisement, but instead of using a link to the sales page, you are using a subscription form.

No More Google Ads inside YouTube Videos

I have just been watching a video on YouTube about how to make pizza dough. I wasn't looking for anything to write about at all, and I wasn't thinking about marketing. Actually, all I was thinking about was "how to make the best pizza dough". But then, after watching one of the videos for about 30 seconds or so, I saw an advertisement inside the video. It sort of popped up from nowhere, just as I was concentrated on the making of the pizza dough. It wasn't just one ad, every thirty seconds or so a new advertisement appeared.

I Am Thinking Viddler

We have had a discussion for a long time, it seems like way more than a few months, about what we should do about videos at the college where I work. I am talking about how we should embed videos on our website, and what software to use, where we should upload the videos and stuff like that. Usually, we host everything ourselves. But if we are going to do it when it comes to videos, I guess we should buy a software, maybe a YouTube clone, to be able to organize all our videos in the future.

Ron Paul and the Marketing Campaign

A few days ago I published the story about Jonathan Bostrom's latest e-book, Presidential Marketing: 6 invaluable marketing lessons from a 2008 presidential candidate. Today, I finally had the time to read it. It was a short e-book, only 22 pages, but it took me several days to get started.

Corey Delaney and his genius party marketing

This 16 year old kid from Australia might be a genius. Corey Delaney was home alone, he invited a few friends over and decided to throw a party. Well, the party got out of hand and more than 500 people showed up and the neighborhood was kind of destroyd Now, this is not why I think he might be a genius. The reason I am thinking this is for what he has done after the media showed up.

Crazy frog and Ding a dang dong

A rather weird title today, but that's how the song goes, ding a dang dong it's the crazy frog song (well, I guess not, but it was close). My point is; you can promote yourself and / or your business by making funny videos and submitting them to video directories like YouTube.

Creative Marketing Forces you to Think

I think that some of the best marketing, are advertisements that kind of forces you to think about something else. You are not quite sure what they are marketing; not until right at the end. It makes you think, and sometimes it makes you laugh... (check out this video)
