I’ve been reading a lot about tribes lately. It all started with Seth Godin’s inspiring book, his ideas about tribe management, then the free Tribes Q and A. A few months ago, I joined Third Tribe Marketing, and I’ve read several blog posts similar to The 3 tribes within your tribe. To me, there are [...]

Using Affiliate Marketing To Recruit New Students To College
January 6, 2010
If you’re not familiar with affiliate marketing, let me just give you a short introduction before I try to answer the question.
Affiliate marketing is a cost per action (CPA) system where you refer people to a product or a service, and if they do a certain action, usually buy something, affiliates earn money.

The Dean and Marketing
September 21, 2009
Here’s a short story for you.
A few days ago, I was attending a meeting at the college where I work. All the deans were attending, and we were talking about marketing. One of the them said something like, “we don’t have to focus on marketing, because everybody is satisfied with the quality of our website. All the information to new and potential students are at our website, so why use resources on marketing?”
Now, I have to give you my reply.
