Starting from today I have a new favorite among search engines. I have been using Google for many years, but there’s something different with my new favorite (just hold on, I am going to tell you which one it is in a few seconds). Google got the results and it’s fast, but there’s something boring to it. I have to admit that getting the right results and providing the results fast are the two most important features of a search engine.
… but my new favorite provides this and much more. It has a completely different approach of displaying the results. It’s something cool about it, to me it’s almost as the difference between a PC and a Mac. The PC does the job but it’s kind of boring, the Mac does the job as well but it’s something more to it, it’s cool as well. Maybe a bad comparison, but I think you understand what I am saying here. Just take a look at snap and try a search and you will understand and you might even get a new favorite search engine as well.
As I discovered Snap I have also discovered an excellent tool provided by Snap. As you roll over any link on my site (staring today), you will get a visual preview of the site (only external links) without having to go there, thus eliminating wasted “trips” to linked sites. Isn’t that great? It’s completely free to use, whether you actually use the snap search engine or not.
I have been thinking about this new feature called Snap Preview Anywhere, and if it will provide better clickthrough rates or not. It’s really hard to know what will be the case, but I think that this tool will provide a better experience for my readers, because now you can only roll the mouse over my links instead of clicking on them and you will get a pretty good idea if you want to go there or not.
At the moment there’s no more Google searching and only Snap for me.
