Mochila: an interesting marketplace

January 4, 2007

Thoughts

I was just aware of Mochila today (both sounds and looks like Mozilla though), not sure how new it really is. Well, anyway, it´s a marketplace for individual newspaper, magazine and other articles.

Key Earn Features (according to the Mochila site):

  • Add high quality content for free.
  • Improve site relevancy, expand audience, boost revenue.
  • Increase page inventory and improve search rankings.
  • Reach more buyers and create new revenue streams.

It sounds like a great idea for site owners that we can use Mochila to get quality articles for free (from Associated Press among others). But I am not sure how it works, how will Mochila earn money and why would newspapers add their articles to Mochila and let them distribute them for free? There are probably some kind of revenue split here (but I haven´t had the time to read up on Mochila).

You can find out how it all works at their website: http://www.mochila.com
