How to manage Email when your head is spinning

email marketing

I admit that I have been too busy lately. It feels like I’ve been out of control. It’s not just because of the vegetarian festival, but I’ve been working hard on several big projects. And I have managed to get things done, but, because I’ve been so focused on the big projects, I’ve stopped a lot of things, like commenting on blogs, and I haven’t been active on social media (I haven’t been networking) and I haven’t been thinking much about the future.

So, like I wrote a few days ago, I’ve been searching for a way to become more productive with email, and to answer all my emails right away, or at least as fast as possible. And, because I’m now using SaneBox, I feel that I’m 100% in control.

That’s until I discovered Mailbox

I’m using my iPhone for a lot things, even though it’s hurting my productivity. And, checking my email is one task I keep doing. With Mailbox, I don’t just check my email anymore. I add actions to each email. This is fun, and it helps me do more and stay focused. Using Mailbox, I manage to reach inbox 0, every single day.

What I do with Mailbox is this:

Sanebox helps me filter all my email. Mailbox helps me take action on the email I receive. After I’ve combine the two software, I understand that my new system is close to perfect for me.

My head is still spinning, but I manage to have 100% control of my email.

Sure, I enjoy what I have just read because I have learned that it is possible to combine two email services or software to achieve total control of email. I neither use SaneBox or Mailbox but I think I have been inspired to check them out. More so, I will gladly share the details of this post to friends!

The above comment was shared in the kingged.com where this post was shared and equally “kingged”.

    Hey Jens

It’s great that you’ve found some technology to help make things simpler when you’re just too busy to stay on top of some things!

I have a gmail account but don’t really use it. Things like Mailbox may persuade me otherwise though.

Thanks for sharing! I hope you’re not working too hard now.

    • I love both apps, and they’re making my life so much easier right now, it’s hard to explain what they’ve done for me. I use Google for all my mail accounts, I use Google Apps for some, and I filter all my emails through Google. It helps me archive all my emails, easy to find old email, and I have more or less unlimited storage as well (and it’s completely free) πŸ™‚

  3. Most of those software will increase email spam score. That will make your email blacklist. If that happen, it’s hard for you to send out email.

  4. For sure my email is starting to spiral out of control as I get busier and busier! I have activated gmail’s new tab system and created a lot of filters. I have also been signing up for certain things using the plus (i.e. sproutspire+newsletter@gmail.com) in conjunction with a filter (skip inbox, label newsletter) so that when I can, I can batch process these kinds of unimportant email.

It is helping, as I only really have emails coming directly from real people hitting my main inbox now, which is great. So I don’t need sanebox yet.

I couldn’t check out mailbox as the site wasn’t working for me just now. But I will have a look at it.

Yeah, my inbox took a bit of time to set up, but my system seems to be working. For now!!

    Hi Jens,

I think quite a few of us have been exceptionally busy. It is just one of those crazy times in life where we spend our time running and racing between projects.

    • You’re absolutely right Josh. I feel that every single person I know are busy, and we hardly have the time to connect anymore. Sometimes, it feels that I am more connected with my friends online, and know more about them (like you), than I do about my offline friend in Norway πŸ™‚

Sure, I have total control of email and email services or software to combine the two is to be learned, because I do not have to read. I use neither SaneBox or mailbox, but I think they have been inspired to check out. More so, I will look forward to sharing more details in this post!

Next week Michelle Obama is not attending the Chinese Summit because it’s the end of the school year for her girls. The news media was discussing whether that’s a snub to China but I totally get it. End of the school year is amazingly busy.

I do wonder how you get everything done, Jens, and I appreciate you sharing your secrets with us. I am going to check out Mailbox now! I see my email on my iPhone a lot so if I can filter it before I get to my computer, I’ll have a lot less work to do later.

Thanks for the tech tip, Jens!

    • I had no idea that Michelle Obama wouldn’t attend the Chinese Summit because it’s the end of the school year for her girls. That’s awesome! I am so impressed with parents like that, and especially with someone like her, who are experiencing so much pressure. Fantastic!

I hope you get the chance to test Mailbox, it’s the perfect mail app for my iPhone, and since I bought an iPad mini today, I have started to use it on that one as well πŸ™‚

Now I knew you would be busy with that festival planning but to hear you have more things in the works too Jens I can understand why your head may be spinning. I just took two vacations within one week of each other and oh my goodness. Getting caught up was a total nightmare.

Now I’ve never heard of either of these services and I’m a stickler for checking my email. I know, people say to not do it at certain times but I do what works for me. I could use a little more organization on how they are handled though because I don’t have outlook so they aren’t exactly organized the best way they can be.

Thanks for these mentioned Jens and I’ll be sure to check them out.

Now don’t wear yourself out okay and have a great productive week.

    ~Adrienne

    • That’s awesome that you’ve been on vacation Adrienne. I truly understand what a nightmare it is getting caught up again. And, since I’ve started living in a tent every weekend now, I am living this “nightmare” every Monday πŸ™‚ SaneBox and Mailbox have saved me a ton of time and frustration, and I am not sure what I would do without them. Right now, I keep focusing on my important tasks on completely different level than before. And, it’s not all thanks to those two apps, but a lot of it is because I started using them.

I loved Mailbox until I realized it lacked drafts and search on the server. For now it’s back to Sparrow!

  12. Ryan says:

Great share. There are a lot of things that can help us to make our work and task somehow easier, that is the advantage of having a good technology. It is not easy to organize email especially if we received many mails including some spam, that would be annoying, somehow software like this can really help.
