Links to your website in 3 simple steps

You can get links to your website in 3 simple steps. You should consider this among your top priorities if you are looking for better ranking among the search engines.

It’s about finding partners, and you can do this by using Google Alert or any of the other 25 methods to get high quality links.

Today, I’m describing an easy method, I believe it’s the easiest way to get links to any website. And it’s completely free. I’m talking about reciprocal linking, a method where you trade with other websites.

There are only three things to remember:

Links should be related

You probably already now this, but I’ll say it anyway. You should think of linkbuilding as your Curriculum Vitae (CV) when you are applying for a job. If your CV (your education and the jobs you’ve listed) is not related to the job you are applying for, then they won’t be of much help.

The more related they are to your own website (the topic you are writing about), the more powerful they are. The same goes for your CV. The more related the stuff on your CV is to the job you are applying for, the better your chances are to get the job.

And of course, if you get them from websites of high quality then they’re a lot more powerful than links from low quality websites. The same goes for jobs and education.

Just ask

If you want one, just ask. But don’t send the same email to every person you are asking. It should be personal, and it should include the reason why and what she will benefit from becoming one of your partners.

Use me as an example.

If you have a website, with the same topic as me, that’s mainly Internet marketing (or marketing in general), just ask. Two sentences, that’s all I need.

I can offer you a link in the right sidebar. Below the headline “supporters”. It’s not above the fold, but it will help you get some traffic and better ranking. A lot of people are doing this.

Always use your primary keyword

You should always use your primary keyword as your anchor text, not the name of your website (the only time you use the name of your website is if the name is also your primary keyword). For instance, I want to rank higher for Internet marketing tutorials, then I’ll use this link: Internet marketing tutorials and not slymarketing.

The more links I get from the primary keyword, the higher my ranking will be for the primary keyword. If you don’t have one, you should do some keyword researchΒ and read more about link building levels.

And I was just wondering how you got page rank of 4 lol jk.
The primary keyword is most important point to get good backlinks. That, with the related content is very powerful .

    • I didn’t know that I have a PageRank of 4, thanks πŸ™‚

SEO is part of the work I do. I have some tools in my Firefox that tell me all the details of the websites that I visit. I have it disabled normally (unless I’m working), but I was checking some websites this morning before reading your website. I checked twice to see if it wasn’t a mistake. Is a very good number.

        • Did you have to check twice? πŸ™‚ Just kidding.

I’m very satisfied with PR 4. At the moment I’m writing a novel, but I’ll be focusing more on my blog and the content as well. It’s a lot of fun to write, and especially when I get traffic and comments and meet awesome people like yourself.

  3. Just ask works almost every single time πŸ™‚
