I have just discovered Blog Media Publishing, a directory of educational blogs. At the moment, the directory has 9 topics, which includes:
- AskMyChef
- HowToMonkey
- RepairingHome
- EverydayGuide
- NewzTracker
- TravelMore
- AskMedQuestions
- HowToRepairWindows
- RepairingCar
What struck me the first time I visited Blog Media Publishing was the cool design, the colors, and especially the logos for each blog.
Now, that I have visited all of the blogs, and read the topics, I find the most interesting one to be News Tracker. This one keeps track of “everything” in the world. It crawls 6000 news and blog sources. The key feature is related news stories as well as related tags in order to explore more news on the topic of your choice.
It’s always updated, that’s really the beauty. But what I found to be very interesting was the search option. The topics of News Tracker is general; world, business, politics, sports and technology. But if I want news on a specific niche, I can just use the search box.
If I want the latest news on the Apple iPhone, I just type it in the search box and click search. I get all the latest updates, and News Tracker is fast.
What I would like on their next update is a way to see how many news stories they present on the topic, just like all the major search engines present their results.
And I am really looking forward to when I can subscribe to their RSS feed on each search. Think about how cool it will be when I can search for Apple iPhone (or whatever) and subscribe to the rss feed. This way I’ll always be updated on the topic, 6000 news and blog sources feeding me every second of the day.
I happen to know that they are going to add this feature sometime very soon.
