I agree with you Tom, it’s important to be active at StumbleUpon (or every social network for that matter) if you are going to see some great numbers.

I did the same mistake in the beginning.I guess you have to give in order to receive, stumble others blog posts and they will stumble yours.It seems to work quite well.(I stumbled and Dugg this post.)

I have been using stumbleupon for quite some time now, and I feel that I haven’t leveraged it for its full use for my blog traffic yet. I will start stumbling on other sites more often too, I’ll start by stumbling yours! Great blog! Thanks.

The same thing happened to me when I first started using StumbleUpon – I think its common amongst site owners

The thing to do now is just focus on submitting and thumbing up other sites. Leave it a week and try submitting one of your own. If it doesn’t work, leave it another week and try again and so on. Mine did come back and now I submit / thumb my own very rarely and now I’m enjoying a steady stream of traffic.
