How about those listbuilders?

March 30, 2005

Thoughts

Well, they are frankly all over us once again. Join a listbuilder and expand your list to thousands of people, in a matter of minutes (ok. Maybe not in minutes, but some of the ads I receive do focus on that it doesn’t take a long time at all to build a huge list).

It might not take a very long time to build quite a big list, if you are experienced, lucky or what ever. To be successful online you need an opt-in list, that’s for sure. The problem is related to how to build it, and if you should use a listbuilder (are what they call them).

The problem with a program like that is that your list will be shared by many people, both in your upline and in your downline. Your ads might be read, but the people receiving your ads will also be receiving many other ads (most people in the program will) at the same time.

This is almost the same concept as a safelist, but if you join a safelist you don’t have to recruit people to the list, just send them your ads and receive some in return.

Even if I sound a little skeptical, I have joined one of the programs, and I use it once in a while. I like it, but it’s a little different though:

Why is the only thing I can find on the internet about this GreenZap their press release (which is the same as the spam I received)? And why do I find the same website information under different names (Stuart Oppenheimer, Vibrant Liew, and William Laffin)? And why don’t they state who they are and what experience they have instead of telling me how much referall money I can make?

I have actually just received information from a reliable source that this greenzap thing is a scam, but I really don’t know.

That what it really is, is just some people trying to get their hands on 100,000′s of e-mail addresses.

I will contact some people and try to find out more

I just received the following e-mail from Greenzap:

It has been a very interesting weekend. We opened the GreenZap site to allow a few people to see what we have coming and received an unbelievable response. We realize that you probably have a few questions, and want you to know that they will be answered in the coming days and weeks.

Since you do not have access to your account (yet), we have provided you some basic information (listed below). We look forward to servicing you and making GreenZap an enjoyable and cost effective place to Send, Spend and Receive Money.

    Sincerely,

    The GreenZap Staff

The reason you see people’s names associated with GreenZap, is because these are people who have JUST REGISTERED. They have websites and have chosen to advertise their GreenZap account.

For people who supposedly are internet savy……you got alot to learn!

I KNOW people in the company and I know it’s gonna be GREAT!! Alot better than Paypal!

Just check out Paypalsucks.com and see how many people HATE Paypal.

Go to the GreenZap website and read the material and make your own decision. If you wanna sign up, you can use promo code: mymoney

    Grace,

You didn’t answer the basic question. Who is running this company and what is there basic experience? What is there security provisions and how are they going to protect their users?

I know a lot of people hate PayPal. Why do you suppose that is? Because on one level or another PayPal betrayed their trust. So they are going to compound the mistake by signing up with a site that doesn’t even explain who they are?

BTW – considering how slow their pages load or in many cases don’t load, I am not the one who isn’t internet savvy.
If their real website, if it really happens, works as well as their promo, they will make PayPal look like immediate service. I sure hope they don’t plan on running their site via PDFs…LOL!

    New email from greenzap:

With over 5 million hits to our site in just 3 days, the GreenZap community has zapped around the world in record time!

Because you are doing such a fantastic job expanding your GreenZap community, it has become necessary for us to upgrade our IT systems. We are currently experiencing a system overload- nearly 10 Megabits of inbound site traffic to be exact and that’s a ton!! This is an unexpected issue and we are currently working with Dell and Cisco to resolve the overload. We anticipate the equipment to be up and running in full capacity by the beginning of next week.

We appreciate your hard work and dedication to GreenZap!! Keep up the good work!

    Have a Zappy Day!!

I was told that the owner of this program has ripped off other people in other ventures that he has had on the net.
To receive your $25, you have to send in $100 to open your account and then, also, buy another card for a $100, which you will be able to use to buy the items you wish to purchase.

First they hide behind a proxy server, then they publish their contact details which turns out to be a grocery strore in La Jolla.
Then they change the details yet again.
    Rival Paypal? LOL
We have decided to rename the program to Green Saps cos that’s what you are if you promote it.
