A Headline To Avoid

Today I am giving you a little warning, and this warning is not something that I have read in some book about what you should not do as a blogger or Internet marketer. I am just saying that don´t use this headline, because I have seen it about a million times already. And when I have seen it a million times, then most people on the Internet dealing with Internet marketing would also have seen it, at least the chances are rather high.

If you are using a headline or a text that most people have already seen, well, then your readers / visitors might not take you seriously or continue to trust you. I sure wouldn´t. It seems like you are a copy cat if you are just using text that other people already have been using for years.

It might sound like a good piece of text, but don´t use it:

Regular People Creating Extraordinary Results

Have you read it before? It sounds very interesting though, it sounds like something that we all need, something that you would want to find out a lot more about. But my advice is to change the text a little, at least so that people would think that you wrote the sentence yourself and that you are not just sending a standard sales letter to your list or to your visitors.

I just received an e-mail with the following sentence. This is a lot better, and one that I haven´t seen that often:

Helping people achieve… what others promised but failed to deliver

You can use that one instead 🙂

Good idea. I use Google Blogsearch to do the same thing. No real reason, I just found the RSS feed to that first =P

    PS. Nice 3 column layout.

Thank you Tim. It´s a free theme, but I really liked it and I wanted 3 columns too 🙂
