I’ve just received an interesting tip from David McGregor about Fast Company’s annual Masters of Design issue.
As I was reading his email, I realized that I rarely write about design.
That’s not because I think that design is not part of the marketing process, or that design is not as important as all the other parts of the process. Design is actually very important.
Design is in fact so important, that my blog is being redesigning as I’m writing this.
I also just realized that I should probably write about the design process for the marketing material of our college.
The Fast Company Event
On Wednesday, October 21st, the magazine Fast Company celebrated their annual October Masters of Design issue by hosting an event at the Chelsea Art Museum. This industry jam-packed event included interviews with David Butler, the VP of global design for Coca-Cola, David Rockwell, the set designer of this year’s Academy Awards, and Lisa Strausfeld, a digital designer, as well as hosted starchitect David Adjaye and Smart Design’s Femme Den. The new Porsche Panamera, which debuted only four days earlier was also out on display, along with all-night demonstrations of HP’s new Envy laptop.
Watch the interviews with David Butler, David Rockwell, Lisa Strausfeld, and Robert Safian, and of course, get a brief look at the event.
You can read the Masters of Design issue online.
Thanks for the tip David.
