Carnival of Marketing #5

December 11, 2005

Blogging

Today is the day. Carnival of Marketing week 5 is here. I have some great articles and marketing tips for you. There are quite a variety of topics I am presenting here. We have marketing to college students, about a new market segment in Saudia Arabia and about microscopic marketing. It should be something for everybody.

Enjoy!

First out is Noah from orkdork.com with an article on how to market to students living in the dorm.

Second out is Carey from truverse.com with an article about Build Relationships, Not Just a Subscriber List.

Another great article comes from Starling at The Business of America is Business. The article is about Market segmentation, Saudi Style.

Tim from Shut up and drink the kool-aid! told me about this really interesting idea. Why Ibis Bicycles could one day rule the world.

Jack from yoest.org has written a very interesting piece on Microscopic Marketing and Marriage

I found two myself, I think they might be helpful, so I decided to include them:

Darren Rowse from problogger.net has written about battling blogger blocks. Giving us 25 tips that could be really helpful.

Alun John from Marketing Tom has some interesting tips on what keyword research tools to use.

  1. SFP Says:

Secrets? Advertising is advertising – the secrets are basic advertising and Ad tracking principles that you can find on the internet free of charge or read in local library books. Any serious business owner should understand basic Marketing principles and that is what is contained in the book so far. This is not to say that some “secret” will not be revealed in future issues; who’s to say? However, similar to purchasing books, if you do not wish to do the research yourself – there is his eBook. But for the price of $47, I feel that’s a pretty steep price for less than 30 pages of content and no real case studies – [ he published his book only 3 weeks after joining Chitika, admitted he was just capitalizing on a "hot" topic. So I am curious what types of studies he conducted to make any "secret" conclusions and what REALLY was his motivation?.] At this time, it really lacks any “secrets” and I would wait.
