Camstasia Studio Affiliate Brander

If you are using Camstasia Studio, this new affiliate brander might be something to consider buying. I have never used Camstasia, but I have seen hundreds of videos made with it, and most of them look really good. Some of the top Internet marketers are using Camstasia, and by using Camstasia you can capture screen movements and make tutorials combining video and audio.

And if you combine it with Camstasia Studio Affiliate Brander you get another powerful tool (I am not an affiliate of this tool).

According to the sales page, there are three important steps to the software:

1.) You Direct Affiliates To Your Camtasia Studio Affiliate Brander
Your affiliates visit the brander, type in their promotional url and instantly download your video.

2.) Visitors View The Branded Video
This is where branding takes place. While the video is hosted on the website of the Affiliate, it is your message and your product/service that is being viewed by the visitor. Of course, this isn’t where the magic takes place. The magic takes place in the 3rd and final step…

3.) Visitors Are Redirected To Your Site Through An Affiliate Url
Once the video stops playing, it automatically redirects to your website through the affiliate url. For instance, let’s say you have an affiliate named Joe Blow. And their affiliate url for your website is:

Well, after the video plays, the video redirects the user to

Therefore, you get traffic from your affiliates and the affiliate gets the sale.

Take a look at Camstasia Studio Affiliate Brander and see a video demonstrating how it works. I am not sure how good the software is, but it looks very interesting and I would probably have bought it if I was using Camstasia Studio.

Now, just one negative thought when it comes to their sales page. They should have made the sales page compatible with Opera (the fastest browser on earth) 🙂

I have a 47% bounce rate today for my Ruby Programming Tutorial site. However, this was about 70% last month. What I did was to reduce to a great extent the number of external links from my home page.

    Hi Satish,

Thank you. I haven´t thought about that. What I have done is make all my external links open in a new window, but I am not sure if that will have any effect at all.

I don’t think a new window will have any affect/relevancy to a GA-reported bounce. GA’s code doesn’t lkely know or care that the client is directing the new page into a new window (although it’d be nice to validate that).

Also, the GA-reported time-on-page for a bounce-visit is zero (since no second page-view with which to calculate an elapsed time occurs). This might be tweaking your tabled numbers above, as the rows with the higher Bounce Rates have more time-on-page zeroes weighing them down (although I’m not sure that the effect in the total reported time-on-page value is that simple).

I do have one nit-picky question. Google defines the Bounce Rate as “the percentage of single-page visits (i.e. visits in which the person left your site from the entrance page).” Is this a percentage of total visits to your site, or a percentage of total page-views to your site, or something else? (The first seems more logical to me offhand, but that doesn’t always mean anything, so I’m looking for actual stated/documented fact.)

Yes, I do think that you need to put the code at all the pages that you want stats for.

  5. Jens says:

As far as I know, you need to have the javascript on all subpages in order to get the stats you are looking for.

That’s what I have done, and it works great for me.

  6. IPs says:

How the bounce rate calculated? or what is the formula to calculate the bounce rate?

Yes this really helps, but how about google web master tool?
Does this thing help you in your site?
