The Biggest Change For 2010

I should probably add, the biggest change for 2010 so far. There are a few days left of 2009, and I have no idea what will happen next year, other than that it will be a very interesting and extraordinary year for me. I have many plans that I’ll tell you more about later.

I’m usually not very into the whole New Year’s resolutions thing, but lately, not sure if it’s because I’m getting older, I’ve felt an urge to add a few resolutions.

Anyway.

What I’m up to now is not really about New Year’s resolutions though.

Text Link Ads

About a month ago I experienced a blogger’s nightmare, and because I ended up switching to Drupal, I also ended up with major challenges with all of my affiliate links and especially Text Link Ads (TLA).

I have been using Text Link Ads for a few years. I have been earning between $300 and $400 a month at least for the past six months. Now, because of the switch to drupal, all the paid text links on my blog are gone, and I ended up with no commission for December. I have to start from scratch.

What I am saying is this; at the moment, I’m not earning a penny from Text Link Ads.

This made me do some research and ask the question; should I quit Text Link Ads and find an alternative method of earning money as a blogger?

PageRank

I used to have a PageRank of 4. After installing Text Link Ads, my PageRank dropped to 3, 2, 1, and currently it’s at 0. I’m not sure when this happened, because I haven’t been keeping track of my PageRank for the past six months.

Although it’s not a resolution, I have decided to remove the Text Link Ads code, and focus on getting a higher PageRank. I’m not sure that it will help my PageRank, just by removing TLA though, but It’s a start.

Here are some of the articles I’ve been reading:

You moved your site over to Drupal— did you have a transition plan to 301 all of your URLs to the correct corresponding page? If not, it's a certainty that you will lose page rank, authority, and SEO keyword rankings. Food for thought…

  2. I moved to Drupal, and back to WordPress 🙂

Drupal was too complex for me, I just wanted to blog and concentrate writing. A lot happened, and so far I lost all my comments, and many images, and probably page rank as well.. but that won't stop me 🙂
