Should You Consider The Switch?

If you have ever considered using a similar name as someone famous, and you didn’t do it, well, you might want to reconsider it.

If you have a business, and you want people to notice you, you could use a name that they already know. Well, you can almost use a name that they already know. Using the exact same name or close to identical name as a famous person or a company (or stealing their logo), that’s illegal. But you can probably find a way to do, it’s not that hard, if you really want to, you’ll find a way.

Misspelled domain names is business for a lot of people.

Anyway, the reason I am writing this post is that I just read a funny story in a Norwegian newspaper about a huge mistake (sorry, it’s in only in Norwegian).

A music festival in Norway thought they had booked Earth, Wind & Fire, and they had, well, almost. The band they booked was really Earth, Wind & Fire Experience with Al McCay & his Allstars.

That’s an honest mistake.

I don’t think that I will suggest that you make the switch to a new name for yourself or your business, because I really don’t think you will benefit from people thinking about someone else when they are contacting you.

You never know, but some of them might actually get rather upset
